Hello Nickel Belt Constituents!
The House of Commons spring session has ended and MP Marc Serré is back in Nickel Belt for the summer to spend time with his constituents and learn more about their priorities and vision for the region! June was filled with positive funding announcements and many exciting community events! Here’s a synopsis of what occurred in June:

Important news on the Hill:

-MP Serré travelled to Quebec for his role as Parliamentary Secretary Duty to the Honourable Bernadette Jordan, Minister of -Rural Economic Development to attend the Federation of Canadian Municipalities Conference
-MP Serré stood in the House of Commons to honour and promote the upcoming 2019 International Plow Match taking place in September which will be hosted in Verner, Ontario
-MP Serré welcomed Réjean, Diane and Joël Dupuis from West Nipissing in Ottawa during their visit to Parliament Hill
-MP Serré welcomed Randy and Karen Crisp from Capreol during their visit to Parliament Hill and gave them their Community Volunteer Recognition Award pins and scrolls

-MP Serré attended the annual Rayside-Balfour Café Musique
-MP Serré attended the 21st annual Valley East Sports Hall of Fame Inductee Ceremony where he presented the three inductees -with congratulatory scrolls
-MP Serré attended Wahnapitae Days
-MP Serré attended the grand opening of the Canada House in Killarney, the largest log-built convention centre in the world
-MP Serré participated in the permanent raising of the Franco-Ontarian flag at Tom Davies square to celebrate la St-Jean
-MP Serré participated in the annual St-Jean lunch at the Centre de Santé Communautaire du Grand Sudbury

-MP Serré attended the 8th Grade Chelmsford Valley District Composite School graduation

MP Serré announced positive initiatives and funding that will benefit Nickel Belt:

-MP Serré announced that Greater Sudbury was among the chosen municipalities for the Rural Immigration Pilot Project.
