MP Serré shows his support for Adaptive Canuck ALS’ ‘Give a Lift for ALS’ campaign

NICKEL BELT – To support ALS research studies in Canada, Marc Serré, Member of Parliament for Nickel Belt, is ‘Giving a LIFT for ALS’ and encourages Canadians across the country to support this worthwhile cause.

The idea is simple. Because ALS (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) is a disease that progressively paralyzes people, with 80% of ALS suffers dying within 2-5 years, Adaptive Canuck ALS wants to fight this debilitating disease with a simple physical expression—lift a loved one, friend, or object in a creative way and pose for a picture, then share it on social media, and nominate three others to do the same using the hashtag #ALSlift and including in your post.

Nominated participants are then encouraged to make a donation at to support ALS research studies across Canada. Adaptive Canuck ALS has committed that 100% of the money raised from this campaign will fund the most innovative ALS research through ‘Adaptive Canuck ALS Foundation,’ a charitable foundation managed by co-founder Jeffery Perreault (an ALS patient) along with other Canadian patients and families living with ALS. A charitable tax receipt is provided.

The campaign begins on Mother’s Day (May 14th) and will continue until Father’s Day (June 17th). MP Serré is pleased to support this creative and important initiative, and is helping to kick off the Give a Lift campaign by lifting the most important and influential people in his life…his parents!

“I’m challenging everyone to ‘Give a Lift for ALS’ by lifting someone that is important to them in a creative and fun way and sharing these photos on social media. My parents were happy to join me in supporting this great cause! Most importantly, I encourage everyone who participates to support ALS research across Canada by making a donation to Working together on this transformative campaign, let’s find a cure for this debilitating and devastating disease.”
