May 26, 2017 – Noelville, ON – Federal Economic Development Initiative for Northern Ontario – FedNor
The Government of Canada is investing $100,000 to enable the Municipality of French River to modernize the Community Recreational Centre in Noelville. This initiative will ensure the community’s recreational centre is open and accessible to residents and guests of all ages for special events, sporting activities and community gatherings.
Marc Serré, Member of Parliament for Nickel Belt, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development, and Minister responsible for FedNor, today announced this Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program (CIP 150) funding. Specifically, the FedNor investment will be used to renovate the Centre’s second level hall, mezzanine, and bathrooms, as well as install an elevator to ensure that those using the facility can access all areas of this important community asset.
“The Government of Canada is proud to be working at a grassroots level to address the infrastructure needs of municipalities and First Nation communities here in Northern Ontario and across the country. By investing in community projects, just like this one, our government is helping to create the right conditions for social and economic growth throughout the region.”
